Color is my act of defiance against the emotional anesthesia we’re fed daily.

His creative process is a blend of intuition, technique & play.

It all begins on the pages of his sketchbook, where he drafts his ideas before taking them into the digital realm, letting colors and shapes flow freely. Yet for this artist, physicality and tangible materials are essential. That’s why he works with mixed media, combining technology with analog methods—each piece undergoing an almost obsessively precise, handcrafted process.

J.Luque is drawn to contrast: what’s meticulously calculated alongside what emerges from pure impulse. He uses vibrant colors because he sees them as a form of rebellion against the emotional desaturation that surrounds us. In a world that grows flatter and more neutral by the day, he embraces excess and the high-frequency energy he perceives through his synesthetic condition.

His works are joyful yet complex in construction, designed to awaken something many have forgotten: the connection to that wild, pure, and free part we all carry within. The part society tries to quiet down, but that still pulses powerfully every time a color stirs something deep inside.
